Sometimes it’s hard to know what is good and what is bad in life. Our world is so different from any other time in history, what some might call ‘the good old days.’ Is it good for customs to change, for women to wear men’s clothing, for technology to fly us through the air, or whether we should have arranged marriages?
The Bible seems to throw a lot of moral weight upon the answer to this question, of promising eternal reward for having passed the test, or of severe penalties for those that don’t. But the good news is, the Bible also tells us in simple terms what we need to do to be good.
From Isaiah 1:16-18,
cease to do evil.
Learn to do good.
Search for justice,
help the oppressed.
Be just to the orphan,
plead for the widow.
Have we come so far so of to have missed this simple truth?
Now that wasn’t so hard, was it?
