BAY OF PIGS

Posted on September 16th, 2016 by Don Cerow

In January 1959 during the latter portion of the two-term Eisenhower administration, the US progressed Moon entered Scorpio. This can represent many things, among them covert operations, especially while traveling through the 12th house. It was in January 1959 that Fidel Castro overthrew the Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista, the leader of a government friendly to the US. The Moon is said to be in its Fall in Scorpio, a particularly tenacious energy that thrives on jealousy and revenge. It’s been said that their motto is, “Don’t get mad. Get even.”

Worried about the spread of Communism, it was during this period in March of 1960 that Eisenhower approved a plan by the CIA costing over $13,000,000 to overthrow the administration of Fidel Castro. Training camps were set up in Guatemala, and by November 1960 1400 men had been taught to lead an assault landing and guerilla warfare.

Despite efforts to keep it secret (Scorpio), knowledge of the invasion had became common knowledge among exiles in Miami. Events were reported in the press as they unfolded. Castro learned of the training camps as early as October 1960 while Eisenhower was still in office.

Beginning his term in February 1961, JFK authorized the plan, but he very much wanted to keep the US connection secret. Choosing the Bay of Pigs as the landing zone was part of the deception. The site was remote and swampy (Scorpio). It was hoped that it would be poorly defended and that the landing would go unnoticed for an extended period of time.

Things went wrong right from the start. Obsolete World War II B-26 bombers were used to attack and take out the Cuban air force. Many of them missed their targets, leaving the Cuban air force largely intact. The bombers had been painted to look like Cuban air force planes. Once word got out that they were repainted US planes (surprising no one), President Kennedy canceled a second strike.

As the invasion unfolded on April 17, 1961, the force was immediately subjected to heavy fire. Cuban planes strafed the troops, sank two escort ships and destroyed half of the exile’s air support. Bad weather contributed to the forward progress of the assault.

From April 9th to June 16, 1961, the US progressed Moon was Void-of-Course, making its last Ptolemaic (major) aspect to Pluto while in Scorpio on the 9th. It had finished its work and was ‘waiting’ for its entry into Sagittarius and some fresh, new energy.

It is said that it is not good to initiate new endeavors under a Void-of-Course Moon.

An invasion is the inauguration of a new endeavor.
