The Sixties, Y2K, the Winter Solstice of 2012; each of these in their time have been heralded by the general population as the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius, and then dismissed in retrospect after nothing seemed to happen. During each of these times the collective unconscious sensed there was a new vibration afoot and looked for a place to hang their hat.
In the ’60s it was a good vibration inflamed by music, both soul and rock & roll, civil rights and protest movements fueled by the Uranus Pluto conjunction, Uranus being the ruler of Aquarius. Together with Pluto the counter culture fought to save their lives, many of them their own, knowing Vietnam to be an unjust war.
Y2K (2000) was fueled by three ‘zeros,’ rolling over in calendrical symmetry, together with the specter of collective PC computers software crashing in OS programs around the world. Waking up on January 1st, 2000 we discovered a world that was fine.
The Winter Solstice of 2012 hit closest to the mark. Rather than the 21st of December 2012, the astronomical marker was actually the 11th of February, 2013, some seven weeks and three days after the 2012 solstice marker. What happened on that day?
The Pope said he quit, and lightning struck the Vatican later that same evening in a thunderstorm, metaphorically marking a seachange for the Christian world.
With the Age of Aquarius, this new epoch will be born of revolution. We are seeing it in the news all around us; in politics, weather patterns and international protests. Look around you. Hong Kong and China, Columbia and Venezuela, the storming of the US embassy in Baghdad. We have gone toe-to-toe with Iran, have been asked to remove our troops from Iraq, and found ourselves distanced from our European allies. Britain has its Brexit as the US limps along with an impeached president. The oceans are being choked off by plastics, Puerto Rico is being hit by earthquakes, fracking has run rampant, Australia is in flames.
This is the dawning of the new age, born of a social revolution. With the new age comes a shift in consciousness. There will be an awareness that awakens the youth of the planet (the Autumnal Equinox aligns with the constellation Leo) who are destined to inherit a smoldering Eden.
What can you do? Get your house in order. Do unto others, work with teams who seek to find answers to global warming (the Need to Grow), be nice to people, use paper and glass for our containers, bring your own bag, turn off the water, tell someone you love them, be active and socially conscious.
Get right with the Great Spirit.
